Northern Ireland type 1 The left side of the hand is curved. White line on hand is thin or absent altogether. Bottom pearl underneath the orb is detached from the central cross. | |||||

Northern Ireland type 2 The left side of the hand is straighter and curves in at the wrist. White line on the hand is thick. Bottom pearl underneath the orb is touching the central cross. There are two subtypes of the Northern Ireland type 2 Type 2a - The pearls along the crown are separate. Type 2b - The first three pearls on the left are joined. | |||||

Wales type 1a and 1b Type 1a has a dot in the eye and a broken line running down the neck. Type 1b has no dot in the eye and a continuous line running down the neck. Types 1a and 1b have a thin tongue and tail. Types 1a and 1b have wing tips that are separate from the wings. | |||||
